The Genoese Lighthouse from Constanța – Light and Guide for Sea Travelers

The Genoese Lighthouse in Constanța is an impressive historical structure located in Ovidiu Square, right next to the city's port and close to the Casino. It was built in 1860 and initially operated with kerosene lamps to guide ships entering the port. Over time, the lighthouse was modernized and improved, and it now operates on electricity.

The lighthouse stands at a height of approximately 8 meters and is built in a neoclassical style, with a white dome and a base shaped like Corinthian columns. In the past, it had an optical signaling system with intermittent light, but today it emits a continuous light to guide ships during the night.

The Genoese Lighthouse in Constanța is one of the oldest lighthouses in Romania and continues to be an important tourist attraction for visitors.
